Though reported as a 256 MB graphics system, the chipset actually used up to 272 MB of RAM. The 27" models weighed 30.5 pounds, consumed 365 watts of power, and had the following dimensions: 20.4" H x 25.6" W x 8.15" D. The high-end 27-inch model had an 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 processor (or 2.8 GHz Core i7), with four cores, 256 kB L2 cache per core, and an 8 MB L3 cache, included an ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics chipset with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, and could be used as a monitor via the mini DisplayPort.

Introduced in October 2009, the iMac (Late 2009) models had larger screens an d faster processors than the previous iMac (Early 2009) line. The iMac (Late 2009) shipped in 4 configurations: 21.5"/3.06 GHz/4 GB RAM/500 GB HD/256 MB shared VRAM/$1199, 21.5"/3.06 GHz/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/256 MB VRAM/$1499, 27"/3.06 GHz/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/256 MB VRAM/$1699, and 27"/2.66 GHz Core i5/4 GB RAM/1 TB HD/512 MB VRAM/$1999.
