Introduced in January 2004, the Xserve G5 (Cluster Node) brought to the cluster-optimized Xserve model up to feature parity with the concurrently released Xserve G5. It shipped with dual 2 GHz PowerPC 970FX processors and 512 MB of RAM for $2,999. In January 2005, the Cluster Node was speed-bumped to dual 2.3 GHz processors.
