Notes
The MacBook Pro's graphics chipset used a portion of main memory as VRAM. Though reported as 768 MB, this was actually a minimum. Actual usage varied with graphics load, resulting in slightly less RAM available for system use. A single 3.5mm jack could be used for analog or optical audio out, or analog audio in.
Introduced in February 2013, the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) replaced the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012), reducing the prices of both models, and upgrading the speed of the high-end model. It shipped in two configurations, each with 8 GB of RAM:
- 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 128 GB flash storage, $1499
- 2.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 256 GB flash storage, $1699
Built-to-order options included faster dual-core Intel Core i7 processors and flash storage of up to 768 GB. In October 2013, the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) was replaced by the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013).
